Multi-hour EMDR and Art intensives compress months of weekly therapy into a single, focused block of time. Whether you're here for EMDR, ART, or both, each intensive is built around the memory, experience, or pattern that's keeping you stuck. Half-day and full-day formats create the uninterrupted space needed for deeper processing, allowing your nervous system to stay engaged long enough for meaningful shifts to occur.
You're not looking for a slow process. You're looking for real, measurable movement, and you're willing to invest real time to get there.
Fifty minutes ends right as things start to open up. You need more room than that to actually get somewhere.
Between shifts, call, and everything else your job demands, committing to the same hour every week isn't realistic, and you're tired of therapy that assumes it is.
Not sure which format fits what you need? We'll figure that out together during your consult.
Every intensive combines EMDR and ART, two structured, evidence-based approaches to processing trauma, along with somatic-based strategies as needed. Which combination we use depends on what a specific memory or experience responds to, not a fixed script run the same way for every client. Whether you're here for EMDR, ART, or both, formats range from a few hours to multiple days, depending on how much ground we need to cover.

I’ve hired other photographers before, but no one’s ever captured my brand this clearly. The planning process was super thoughtful, and the shoot itself was honestly fun? I use these photos everywhere.
We'll walk through the specifics and help you prepare during intake.

I'm Vickery Rendall, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker based in Bellingham, Washington, with a master's degree from Boston University and over fourteen years of clinical experience. I'm currently licensed in Washington, Oregon, and Massachusetts.
I'm an EMDRIA-certified EMDR therapist, trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, with a decade inside emergency departments and medical crisis settings behind that training. I built the intensive format around what I saw firsthand: people who couldn't wait a year of Tuesdays for real relief, and didn't need to.
EMDR is a well-established, evidence-based treatment for trauma. Intensive formats deliver the same approach in concentrated blocks rather than weekly hours. Early research on intensive formats is encouraging, and I'm transparent that it's a newer area of study.
Accelerated Resolution Therapy uses guided eye movements similar to EMDR, but includes voluntary image replacement, a technique that lets your brain replace distressing imagery with more neutral images as a memory is processed. This can reduce a memory's emotional charge without requiring you to retell the experience in detail. I use ART alongside EMDR within intensives depending on what a specific memory responds to best, not as a fixed substitute for one or the other.
An intensive’s fee reflects the time and preparation it involves. Before we begin, I meet individually with each partner. The intensive itself is several hours of dedicated couples work, in a single day or across multiple days, followed by individual time with each of you afterward. Between sessions, I review what each of you has shared and plan how we’ll use our time together. The fee covers that full structure as one block.
Intensives aren't the right fit for anyone currently in a mental health crisis, including suicidal or homicidal ideation, or with a recent psychiatric hospitalization. They're also not ideal for anyone without a support system to lean on afterward, or anyone looking for a rapid fix without any reflection or integration built in. If you're not sure whether that describes you, we can talk it through during your consult.
